Ha Ha, thanks for the "short letter". I completely forgot to tell you last week, or maybe it was two weeks ago, I found the wallet/card/drivers liscense all in the important documents folder. I havent found the camera cord yet, and I can't figure out how to open attached pictures.
I'm glad the camera card got to you, I found out that both my companion and Elder Kurkzodina in my district lost camera cards or small tapes in the mail recently.
Hmmmm, extra journals. . . I don't need any more right now, in fact, I hate to admit that I'm not getting very far in my big one at the moment. I don't know if it's just at the MTC, but there is very little time to journal write. I do, however, write in the Moleskine almost every day, sometimes twice a day, any experiences that I have. That has been really nice. Maybe if you find any paper like the kind that E. Dymock has, you can send me some, so I can put it under my moleskine page when I write, and send you experiences weekly.
I have recieved many letters, thanks so much! I usually get one every other day, and it is wonderful. I only have about an hour or two every week that we're allowed to write letters, so I haven't had time to write anyone except you -- I hope to return some letters this week and next.
I sleep on the top bunk -- I was the last one to the room on our first day. I'm farthest from the door, and we've got a really funny room. At first, the heat was always on, and our room was toasty, so we talked to workers at the front desk about it, and they said they'd try their best to fix it, and the next day, our room was freezing. We've hit a kind of happy medium now, thankfully.
That's great about the spelling bee coming up, Rachel! I know you'll do great.
In Tagalog, everything is spelled phonetically, which makes spelling really easy. My favorite word this week was pinakamakapangyarihan, which means "all-powerful" or "all-mighty", with pagpapakumbaba, (humility) running a tight second. Good luck! I hope you do awesome!
Sarah, I wish I could play tennis here. Really bad. I had to tell my companion when I read that you'd played in a tournament, I was so proud. I bet you did amazing, but just make sure that I can still win sometimes when I get back.
This week I got to play the piano in priesthood, and it was so great! I'm a little rusty, though. I might be able to play next week as well, we'll see. Right now we're singing "Behold, the Lillies of the Field" in MTC choir, and it's beautiful. I love the words, I never noticed them before. Tonight elder Thorn and I teach the first lesson in Tagalog, and I just hope and pray we're ready!!! It's more of just a practice, what we call a "teach-o-rama" to the other missionaries.
So good to here from you! I hope everyone is doing well -- I'm doing super, and every day gets better. The spirit is strong here, and it's helping me learn, I know it is. I'm amazed, when I think that we're really learning this language, and that in a matter of months, we'll be able to teach the Filipinos in Tagalog.
Mahal kita,
Elder Peck
