The Spirit of God Like a Fire is Burning...

So much to do in so little time!!! Ok, speed version of this week.
We went to Big Buddha last p-day and it was super cool cause the fog was covering everything, so it looked all mystical and stuff. That was super fun.
Then the rest of the week was normal. EXCEPT for the ginormous fire on the mountain. It started Wednesday I think? Then by the time the night came it was HUGE. It was eating up the mountain super fast and we could see the flames licking from our window, which is fairly far away, so those flames were big. By the morning they had it under control and I watched helicopter after helicopter consistently dropping huge buckets of water or that powder stuff. Whew. That was crazy. The next day there was ash blowing around and the mountain looked a bit crispy, kind of like dad's cookies. But it looks a bit better now, and we had some rain, so we're good now. But man that was exciting. Also terrifying.
The rest of the week wasn't near as exciting, and luckily not as destructive either. We had meeting, finding, and even exchanges! I went with Sister Ramboz in Butterfly! It was a little weird to be back to be honest, even though it's right next door. I helped her update all their books since she realized I had a lot of info on people that wasn't updated yet. Whoohoo.
That was basically the week. Not too much going on. I was a bit stressed out about everything we had to do and stuff, so I was a bit cranky yesterday, but luckily, the Atonement is real and Heavenly Father never leaves us alone. It was a good lesson for sure. Even though it gets overwhelming sometimes, It'll all turn out all right in the end. Just remember that we are ALL missionaries doing Heavenly Father's work. Reach out to those around you and God will bless you in every aspect of your life.
Love you all! Sorry it's not too long this week, I'm a bit short on time. Have a fantastic week!

Count Your Many Blessings!

Hey everyone!!!
Wow, this week actually flew. Ok, not literally, but close. I'll start at the very beginning, p-day. Last p-day we went to the space museum with one of Sister Branch's Hung Seui Kiu friends/investigators. And we got to see a movie/historical documentary in the space dome theater. The screen is literally the dome, so the screen is huge. It was pretty fun. The documentary/movie thing was on the Amazon, so you can imagine I was pretty excited. And we visited the history museum too, which was also really cool. Hong Kong has such an amazing and ancient history.
And then we got to see Elder Stevenson! That was super cool. We got lined up for the picture an hour early (yes it takes an hour. Rach, if you think family pictures are bad, try to line up all the missionaries in the entire mission and keep them all still and quiet for an hour) But when Elder Stevenson came in we were singing the Army of Helaman song and it was incredible. The spirit was so strong in that room. President Lam teared up a bit and Elder Stevenson did too. It was incredible. Elder Evans and the Presiding Bishop Elder Causse was there too. Wow, it was so cool. And their talks were amazing. He talked a lot about having the Holy Ghost as our companion and promising our investigators blessings.

The rest of the week was great, but that was probably my favorite part. We had a zone find, had interviews with President Lam, which were pretty normal, met with Tony and Fei Fei this week as well.  Fei Fei is doing amazing!! We gave Bobby to the elders since he's not really that interested right now and just distracts his mom usually. Then we taught her with Lai Jimuih, our member, and the spirit was so strong! We were able to re-extend a baptismal date and she said yes!!!! Her date is April 29th. It was such a spirit led lesson and she said she knew God loved her. So incredible.
We also had a relief society birthday party and learned all about the founding of the church. it was super fun.

Aaaaaaand we had a chengout with an LA, but it was a little interesting... he tried to set up the elders with his Mandarin niece and might have flirted with Sister Branch a bit... Not doing that again. But it made for a hilarious story!
I almost forgot to tell you a funny story super fast about the time we were walking under a tree and talking and suddenly, something dropped right in front of my face and landed on the ground, and I looked down and it was an EGG. One second difference and that thing would have landed on my HEAD. That was a surprise. Yup. Right out of the tree.
That's my crazy busy week in a nutshell. Whew. It's been so incredible to see how the Spirit is so willing to guide us if we are willing to be led. Nothing happens in missionary work, or in anything else without the Spirit's guidance. Heavenly Father is so merciful and really does want each of His children to be happy. Some people here don't really even know what happiness feels like. I've felt so lucky to have the family I do and to have grown up with the gospel. It's so amazing the things He's given us. Look for the miracles. They're always there. I love you all so very much! Count your many blessings.
Till next week!

There Goes Another Week!

Wow, there goes another week!
Whew! So this week we had quite a bit going on. For last p-day, we took a district year mark picture!!!...but Sister Keery is banished to Macau, and Sister Rees and Stafford forgot. So it's not really the whole district. But it was good to see most of them!

Today we get to see Elder Stevenson too!!! He's in Hong Kong, so he will speak to us. I'm super excited!

We had some really fun Chengouts this week! We had one with Mak Jimuih and she invited some LAs (less active), Amy and Kelvin, who aren't LA anymore. It was really fun, and Amy told us about her struggle with liver cancer, which is why they were LA. They are so amazing and so fun!

We had a zone find, and I went with Sister Guillard, a sister from the group after mine. We got 4 numbers and ended up getting about 23 from the whole zone!
On Friday we had a super packed day, but it was great cause we helped Chloe's visiting teachers share a message with her and they're going to try to get her to church more! She doesn't come cause her 6 year old, Jimmy doesn't like church, but we tried to tell her that that's literally every child anyway. And we taught Tony with his Home Teachers, the Yau's. Yau HingDaih is our Ward mission leader too. They were amazing! So basically I'm just incredibly grateful for this ward. They've been so active in getting our RCs (recent converts) and investigators taken care of. Best ward in Hong Kong!
Sister Branch and Sister Peck with Brother and Sister Holmstead--friends and neighbors from home just starting their mission in Hong Kong.

And then we grabbed a quick dinner from McDonalds and ran to teach English class. We didn't teach Fei Fei and Bobby, but we talked with her, and she came to church yesterday! Bobby didn't, but Fei Fei loved it! She already is good friends with the sisters and everything! I could've just cried for joy at how well everything is going.
Tony also got the priesthood yesterday!! Wow. So much happened. It was a really good week. We also got two new investigators too.  We also had a game night as an apartment! We even broke out the Missionary Impossible game!
And to top it all off, we had dinner last night with the Jehng and Lai families, they're related, and had a blast. They're so funny! We taught them the plan of salvation because their father in law has gone less active. so we got to testify about eternal families and challenge them to work for it. The spirit was so strong and I could feel it was all true.
This week has been amazing. This gospel is so true and it really does change lives. I love you all so so much!! Till next week!

One Year Older and Wiser Too. . .

So this week... There's quite a bit, but I forgot my notes in my planner. So I'll do my best. Last P-day we actually went to West Point to chill with the sisters there. It was really weird to walk back to my old apartment. But cool as well.

We also went to Crossroads (non-profit charity the missionaries volunteer at) on Wednesday, and we got to paint and I got to play with some power tools. It was fun. And then I got to be a ladder model. Yes, I modeled a ladder. They said they would  put the picture on their facebook and instagram pages, so you'll have to see if you can find it. I'm pretty famous now.
In other news this week, we got to help our investigator Caillou with his prep for the EIL TS test. And I found out that English is super hard. But he did pretty well with the assignment. He finds it super weird that we can speak Cantonese, but I think he forgets that he's speaking to us in English... Funny kid.

Also I got a really yummy strawberry and honey drink from Starbucks to celebrate my one year mark!!! We also had pancakes that morning as an apartment since it was me and Sister Ramboz. It was a really fun day.

We didn't really have anything else crazy happen this week. Just some finding and other normal things. Fei Fei and her son Bobby came to church, but they thought it was really boring... so we're going to work with that... Otherwise, they're all really good. We've got quite a few potentials that we hope to schedule this week.
Tony will get the priesthood this Sunday too!!! So exciting!! He's honestly such a good man. So golden in everything he does.

So that was my week. We have Elder Stevenson coming next week to see our mission, I'm super excited about that. Also, we heard that President Nelson will also be coming to Hong Kong in April! And maybe Elder Holland? We'll see how much of it is true, but I really hope it is!! It will be my first time seeing the prophet in person. Let's just say I'm super super excited about it. So are all the members.

Anyway, it's been a good week here. I'm excited to see how this one goes! I hope you all have an amazing week!!! Love you all so much!
