An Adventurous Week!

Well, needless to say, this week went super fast, as usual. Not to say it was a breeze, but it went fast. Quite a bit happened this week. So to start off, We had quite a few chengouts since Sister Haghsheno was leaving. So we had a super fun dinner with the Yauh family.

We've gotten to be pretty good friends with their daughter, Megan, she's so fun!!!  Anyway, their family is amazing. And we got to see Chloe and her 5 year old, Jimmy, too this week. They're so cute. We finished her ABLs! The after baptism lessons. She's so great.
In other news this week, we made it to Wednesday and went to Crossroads, (charity organization the missionaries volunteer at) and Sister Haghsheno, through reasons she probably doesn't want people to know, she rolled her ankle really bad and laid on the floor for a while. Needless to say, we carried her all the way back from Crossroads, Sister Perez and Webb took turns while I carried all our bags. It was definitely an adventure. And then later that day I started fevering and my cough got worse, so yeah, we stayed home the rest of the day. And then the next day was transfers. We woke up and her ankle was worse, I was coughing my lungs out and had a headache and chills, so we were a mess. The other sisters ended up having to find our apartment and then the four of us took the suitcases and Sister Haghsheno to Tin Sui Wai, which is super close to Tuen Muhn luckily. Then Sister Branch and I went back to our apartment. So that was pretty crazy.
The rest of the week has been pretty good, just full of adjustments and I've been feeling better too. We got to go to Hung Sui Kiu for Sister Branch's investigator's baptism yesterday and it was so cute. Except there wasn't enough water in the font, so poor Candy got baptized five times instead of just once until they finally got her all the way under. But she was good about it and seemed very happy.

So things are very good here. It's been an adventurous week, full of good stories. We also met with a creepy potential too. Good week. Oh also, Sister Ramboz is in my apartment! She's with Sister Perez!! I finally get to live with her haha. We've talked a lot about when we first met at USU and it's been a relief to just kind of talk about home.  So it's been fun.
It's been a good week. Lots of prayers have been answered and it's pretty crazy to look back on the past year and see how much has happened and how much experience I've had and friends I've made. I hope all of you have an amazing week!!! I love you all so much!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Welcome to the Year of the Dog everyone!!! SanTai GinHong! (Hope you are all healthy. It's traditional that you say things like that to people to wish everyone luck and health for the new year.)

So, this week... Lots of new changes.
We had transfer calls!!! It was kind of a crazy one since no new people are really coming in this transfer. So we weren't sure what would happen. But it turns out that Sister Haghsheno is going to Tin Sui Wai and Sister Webb is going to Kowloon City. Yup. We were all pretty sad at the news. It'll be a good change, but we were not as thrilled about this one. So I'll be companions with Sister Branch, a sister from England that was in Sister Webb's group. I'm excited, but nervous for a new change. I'll finally be senior companion, leading Castle Peak Bay. And Sister Ramboz from my group will be in Butterfly with Sister Perez!! I'm pretty excited about that. Sad that Sister Webb is leaving though. We've gotten really close over the last 6 months. Same with Sister Haghsheno.
Sister Webb, Sister Perez, Sister Peck

Tony didn't get the priesthood, but he will next time. He had his interview yesterday though. And we performed the EFY medley in Sacrament meeting. (All the missionaries.)
In other news this week, we had lots and lots of time this week since everyone was busy celebrating Chinese New Year. All the stores were shut down and we found ourselves with a lot more time than we wanted... And the funny thing is, finding is iffy cause no one is out on the streets, calls are also out since they're busy celebrating. So... hm... Weekly Planning!! We actually had Zone Conference on Friday too, so that was a life saver.

We also had a zone find earlier this week and we went to Tsing Yi. I was with Sister Hodson for the find and we went to their park. It was actually really cool cause we had a goal to get 5 numbers and teach them something small/get to know them. And we got 5 numbers last minute!!!! Heavenly Father totally knows our goals and desires. We got two Filipino numbers, cause they're always so nice, and three normal numbers. But I finally got to check another item off my bucket list!! While we were getting one of the numbers, a random lady walked up behind the woman we were talking to and told her we were a cult and not to listen to us. Right to our faces. We probably looked pretty shocked. In all my time here, I've never had someone try to anti them with us right there. It's happened behind my back, and I've been told I was a cult, but that was a new one. So that was pretty intense. But the lady was really nice and gave us her number anyway. It was such a good find.Heavenly Father knows our efforts.

We also had a cool training in zone conference about Chinese history and bible history! A lot of people think our church/religion is only Western, but we looked at the history back to the tower of Babel and they totally have similarities!! It was so cool. And they get their characters from pictures. And little did we know that the story of Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, even sacrifice was hidden in the characters!! I can't really explain it over email, but it was so so cool. They really are more related than we thought...
We visited some members yesterday, they're three sisters who live together and they're so fun!! Reminds me of my sisters. ;)

Also, we got to go to a Butterfly member's house last night to try some New Year foods and stuff. It was super fun. To be honest, it got a little crazy with so many missionaries and it honestly probably was the weirdest Cheng out I've been to yet... But it was good. That's what those last pictures are of.

That's most of the news this week. It's been a good one. Interested to see what this week brings!! I know Heavenly Father does everything for a reason, so I'm excited for what's in store! I love you all so very much!!

A Great Week!

Hello Everyone!!!
Hope it's been a great week!

My week was actually not that exciting, don't get your hopes up, but it was very good.

Thanks for reminding me that I'm so close and yet so far from the Olympics this year. I saw a commercial come on the other day and just about cried. Sister Haghsheno wasn't really all that sympathetic, but we'll see how she feels when the world cup comes on bwahaha. So yeah. That's just fantastic.

We did a lot of the normal stuff this week (surprise!) like district meeting and English class finding, we ended up finishing weekly planning halfway through the week, etc. Some of the fun things this week though was that we had a really crazy day on Friday, we were so booked. We had five lessons planned, which is probably my personal record in one day, it just doesn't happen usually.

We had a morning chengout with Yeung Jm, an LA. We went to a vegetarian Yam Chah place and it was so good. What wasn't so great was that there was SO much food, and Sister Haghsheno got full really fast and didn't feel that great, so I had to Sister up and eat a LOT of food. She's one of the people that you eat ALL the food, or they think you don't like it. So eat it we did.

Man we felt so sick afterwards, but it was good. Also, she's been reading the scriptures and she likes it!!! Yay!!! So that was a highlight. She really is so so sweet and loves missionaries. So we'll see what happens. So that's the picture there too of the food. It was really good food too.

After that we went to  the Library to meet with a potential, Caillou, but he fonged. He told us later he fell asleep. Sad. Then we went to meet with an LA, Cherry, but she fonged too. Then we went to the church and taught Tony, and he's amazing, as usual. He asked about tithing and started the Book of Mormon again for the third time. Yup. He's getting the priesthood next week! And we got McDonalds for dinner, good ol' McDonalds, had English class where they absolutely LOVED playing Simon Says. And we taught Fei Fei and Bobby Plan of Salvation with a member, Lai Jm, who is from Taiwan, which was perfect because Fei Fei also knows Mandarin. They got along great.

In other news, A-Fung blocked the elders. So he's dropped for now. I guess he was more interested in the sisters than the gospel. Sigh. Maybe later.

We also had a good day Saturday, where we had absolutely nothing planned. So we did calls and finding and we walked all the way to our pier! We passed a cool fish market where the crabs are GINORMOUS. Not even lying, those things are huge. Also the fish and lobsters. But the pier was absolutely gorgeous.

Last exciting thing was the new baptismal goal for this year. Last years goal was 242 and we got 192. Soooo, this year, the goal is.... 400!!! Don't ask me how that happened, I don't really know... but it's actually really cool, cause we're all going for it. We've been promised that if we have the faith for it, we can get it. So we'll give it our all and let Heavenly Father handle the rest!

Overall, it wasn't a super eventful week, but at the same time, it was really good and I learned a lot about just loving the work, no matter what we were doing. It's taking a long process, but I'm slowly learning more and more each day. The church is so true! It's so sad to see people leave it for things they think are more important, but it's also great to see them start to come back and partake of all the blessings! I love you all! Keep doing what you're doing, stay faithful and true to what you know.  Love you all!!

I Love to See the Temple!

Hey Everyone!
A lot happened this week as well, but I'm not sure how it'll all fit in, so we'll see. It might be just a bit scrambled. And the computer keeps booting me out, so I'll put in as much as I can.
Last p-day we just emailed and did groceries because we got to go to the temple this week!! I love the temple!! It was super fun. We went on Friday and it was a really interesting experience because I saw people from all of my wards. I saw Chun Jm from West Point and got to say hi to her, Wong Mama was in the session with us and Go HingDaih was there too, both from Butterfly, then we saw Yao HingDaih from Castle Peak too. Wow, it was like a time loop of my mission. So that was really really good. I love the peace the temple brings and I love seeing our members working there and making it a priority.
In other news, we had some good Tam Jau, kind of like noodle soup with various broths and stuff, we got to visit Jeung HingDaih! He lives up in a village with lots of cute little houses. You don't see those as often, but they're really cute. He's doing so well and came to church!!
We had interviews this week, which were great, and also finally turned A-Fung over to the Elders. So it's been a good week.

Funny story, we met this 13-ish year old girl a while back and gave her a Book of Mormon and a flyer, then she actually just showed up at our church on Saturday. The Tuen Muhn elders called us and we hurried to the church to meet her. And well, it was kind of weird. She invited us to come with her to her church across the street cause they were meeting in a half hour. We told her we couldn't because we had the activity at the same time, but that she was free to come with us to that. She said no, but kept following us around and trying to get us to go with her, or just go out and keep talking to her. It was a little weird. She's a new convert to the Alliance church across the street and boy can I say I'm not used to other people trying to convert me. It was just strange. Then she just left. So we'll see where that goes.

Then we went to the Relief Society Activity and we made delicious little pinneapple cakes. They were amazing. I love our ward. They're really nice and so supportive.

That was my week. Lots happened but it rushed by really fast. I guess such is life as a missionary. I love you all so much!! Keep up the good work and keep praying for even the little things. I found that a lot of my small, unimportant things that I thought didn't matter were still answered, so He absolutely hears your prayers.
Love you all!!!
