The Time Has Come! (to work, work, work)

Dear Family,
It's been a week full of changes!
Early Thursday morning, I said goodbye to Elder Casilac. I won't see him again here in the mission. He transferred to Tarlac zone. I wish we'd had more time together, we came together perfectly and the transfer went so smoothly. I'll miss him a lot. Thursday I saw the Maharrys and Puzeys and Kuya Jose and Elder Landingin again at the mission home. It was like really going home again. But we didn't stay long. After a meeting, I met my new companion -- Elder Catellier. He was born in California and grew up in Cebu and then Manilla, in Las PiƱas. He's an incredible missionary and exactly what the San Luis branch needs. He's familiar with the work, has a strong testimony, has read the scriptures, Preach My Gospel, the missionary library and the handbook. Plus he's fluent in English, Cebuano and Tagalog. I was surprised when, as I sat down for language study, he seemed like he didn't know what to do, and said he wanted to learn one of the local dialects. When I mentioned that Tagalogs usually spent the 30 minutes studying english, he surprised me by demonstrating his, and good grief! His vocabulary is more erudite than mine! I'm looking forward to getting trained up good this transfer.
Yesterday's church attendance was a big wake up call for me. If I was every starting to feel trunky, yesterday scared trunkiness right out of me. No investigators made it to church. Angie was in Baler, and the Amazona family was in the fields. No! Something needs to happen, right now! This week we'll do anything to help the branch stick together and get some investigators to church. We need to work on some part-member families and people that are close to members. This week we'll wire up a big sign outside our meetinghouse and we're drawing a map that we can give to investigators because many do not know where the church is. If we don't have some kind of member support behind our investigators, it's hard to get them to sacrament meeting. But something will happen, I believe. Our hopes are still high and I recommitted my whole heart, might, mind and strength to the Lord yesterday. I'll forget myself this last transfer and bigay-todo (give it all) till the very end. There's still time left to make a change! My testimony is growing stronger and I love my companion -- we're working along together great, and things can only go up from here. So wait for the update next week. Miracles are on the way! Thanks so much for your prayers -- they do so much good. I love you all,
Love, Elder Loren Peck
P.S. Lindsay's project looks great! Happy Valentines Day -- Thanks to grandma Swan for the great card, and Jill/Shalee for the card and picture. Olivia and Loren both sent me letters, but by the time I send off a response, well, I might get there before the response does. So tell them thanks and I'll talk to them soon.
I'm sending off my second letter (once a year, right?) to President Miller. The second year flew by, even faster than the first! We've got our work cut out for us this transfer, there's a lot to do and work out here. We're teaching some great families -- the Quematon and Perez families and it looks like they're making some progress. Sister Quematon was a former investigator and said that she honestly had prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a true prophet but she never felt anything special. We're making small steps in the right direction with them and the important thing is that the spirit is present when we're with them, and they keep inviting us back. The spirit works wonders, I have faith that it can change anyone.
