Typhoon/ This would never happen on "The District"

Hello everybody!!!!

This week has been pretty crazy, I don't even know where to start. Congrats on the Eclipse!! Nothing really happened here. I saw some pictures of it on the MTR TV screen. Yup. Man, I can't even think of what happened this week. Butterfly is super awesome!!! It's been a bit rainy this week, and there was a tiny typhoon. Ok, it was a big typhoon. Yes, it was a level 10, and they can't rank it higher than a 10. So pretty crazy. Our room leaked a tiny bit and it was pretty windy. When we finally got to go outside that night, there were a lot of broken trees and the highways were pretty bad. Apparently they don't happen very often, so that's cool. We actually fared pretty well, apparently Macau didn't do so hot, you probably saw a lot of it on the news. Sarah, if you were feeling bad about your car, apparently a three story underground parking lot completely flooded, so you're not alone. Pretty scary for Macau. We didn't get any flooding here though, so that's good. :) Mom, they sent you an email about it? Then we missed church yesterday because of ANOTHER typhoon 8. What a crazy unusual week!! Very exciting for sure.

So the rest of my week has been pretty crazy with lots to do that now I can't remember, but one thing that was definitely exciting was teaching our investigator, Sara. She's the one with a baptismal date. Sooo, long story short, she LOVES missionaries and she was really concerned about all of my zits (bless her heart)(yes, Chinese people will point at all your zits and tell you to stop eating McDonalds, they will also tell you you've gotten fatter and laugh at you)(#Chinalife) So she got me some Chinese medicine, just some little tablets, usually just really organic healthy stuff smashed into a disgusting little tablets. And when we got into the lesson, about to teach her the restoration, she tried to get me to eat two of them to help my zits. After a long power struggle, and a lot of reassurances from our member that they were completely safe and very healthy for you, and me trying to think of any allergy I could possibly have, I did swallow them. Yes mom, before you freak out, I'm still alive, and unfortunately, so are my zits. So with that surprising nightmare over, we started to get the lesson going when Sara pulled out two more tablets and started smashing them in a little sacrament cup. Yes, I freaked out a little, then she came over and, yes, smeared the nasty smelling stuff all over my face. The rest of the lesson went great! I said the first vision even though I was trying not to smell it too much. So, hence the title, the thought that ran through my head at that moment was "This would never happen in The District". (Those videos that every missionary watches to see what missionary work is SUPPOSED to be like.) Can you imagine those adorable sisters giving a lesson with a super gross face mask? Nope, I can't. Awesomeness achieved!!!

So that was my week, that's about as much time as I can take for this email. But we did have a dinner with some members and they fed us delicious ribs and mashed potatoes and corn. So good!! Like a taste from home.

And a french dessert that tasted a lot like mango floats. Do you know mango floats Loren? They're from the Philippines!
It's been a good, and slightly crazy week here in Butterfly. Just another day in the life of a missionary. Hope this week is amazing for you all, good luck with school everyone!!  Love you all! Church is true!!
