A few highlights. We had district council over the phone. It was good, although I got a little frustrated because I couldn't understand what they were saying. It is so humbling to have to ask them to repeat it like 5 times. It's nice that Hermana Day and I were both new and we both needed repeats. Oh well, we have to humble ourselves to make our weaknesses strengths @Ether12:27. I'm working on it. Spanish is so fun and it's coming ever so slowly. I'm excited to be in a Spanish branch here in Baltimore!!!
We had many lessons this week. I love when we meet people on the street and then just a few weeks and a few lessons later, we are great friends. Love it. Super crazy story- Hermana Seader and her previous companion were teaching individuals named Barbara and Madelyn. In the last two weeks, we were street contacting RANDOM people and found and started teaching Barbara's sister, and then yesterday found Madelyn's sister!! RANDOMLY! We had no idea until after we started meeting with them! The Lord knows His people and families are ordained. These amazing people are willing to listen and love the scriptures. They recognize the hand of God in their lives and it makes them beautifully positive people. I love them.
We had exchanges on Friday, that's what those pictures are with all 5 of us. We made papusas!!! Me gusta papusas.
Also, that night I found a frog and I LOVE frogs so I wanted a picture. You will notice the first picture it is right in front of me and the second it's not. That's because after the first picture it peed on me. Like, a lot. I have no idea how it's little body could hold so much water! We were laughing so hard.
Even with as amazing as things have been this week things have not been easy. I felt like I was in a little bit of a testimony slump. Maddy reminded me that that's normal- but that you have to hold onto the times you knew without a doubt that these things are true and it's going to get better. I got a perfectly timed letter from Aunt Kathy and in the first line it said "Today is the perfect day to make your mission a success". Wow I needed that. Today really is the best day ever. For everyone, because through the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can make right now the best day ever. We are not who we were yesterday and tomorrow doesn't matter yet. Just right now matters, and like Maddy said, hold onto the things you know. Hold onto your campfire of faith @ElderGongOctober2018.
Oh yes I am in Baltimore as of today with Hermana Whitehead and I am loving it! There is an awesome energy here. Hermana Whitehead is from Idaho and is super amazing, I knew of her before and have always looked up to her. I am honored to serve with her. Thank you for all the emails and prayers this week! I love you all!
Love, Hermana Peck
P.s. I got my Hermana tags this week, it's official haha
