Never Fear, it´s Hermana Peck and Hermana Safeer!

Mango Picking with the basket I made myself.  Did it work?  Nope.

Carla is still working for August 10th. Lots of prayers. Everything looks good, but she didn´t make it to church this week. We heard that she maybe was sick. We haven´t been able to pass and ask her though. Is it bad if we hope that´s true?

And..........Rosi´s getting baptized! If all goes well. We have  a fecha for the 17th of August. We surprised ourselves when a lesson we were in with her just started teaching itself. And all the sudden I knew we were going to invite her to get baptized. I turned to Hna Safeer and without having talked about it before, she extended the invitation.  Rosi said ¨yep, when?¨ Hna Safeer looked at me and whispered ¨the 17th¨ behind her  hand. I nodded and we came out of there on a spiritual high.  She already has the foundation in going to church.

Rosa went out of town this weekend.

We are in the Praditos a lot every day, teaching and meeting members. I can´t remember if I´ve talked about it before, but it´s a really poor area. It´s really loud, lots of music, dancing, and alcohol. Most of our investigators are there, ironically, because we´re not even allowed to contact there because it´s too dangerous. But we were walking through this week when a man that we always pass (we recognize a ton of the same people, sitting in the same spot every day), asked us if we shared with anybody, or just certain people. We said we could definitely come share with him (with Alejandro, our member, of course). So yesterday, we did. He was like  a PMG (Preach My Gospel) investigator. It was uncanny. Our lesson could have been filmed and put on "The District" (A missionary training video series). He started out talking about how he´s been in several religions, but he feels at times like he´s searching for something that never quite fills his soul. Like a thirst. Right? He really said that. I testified about our message and we talked about the Restoration and prophets and apostles and getting answers to prayers, and then he brought up baptism and said that if he was baptized, it would be his 3rd time, and he just feels like that is a little extreme. But that will have to be a lesson for another day, we wrapped it up after 45 minutes leaving him to pray about it all. Where were the cameras?

We cleaned and painted an old Elder´s house this week. Gross. That´s all there is to say. Chris and Loren, if you ever let your houses get like that, shame.

Thanks for the letters, prayers, muffin mixes (That i tried to make but our oven decided not to work so I had to make them into pancakes) and everything else.
Love, Hna Peck
