Hey!
What a week! I'll start at the beginning I guess since that will make my life easier.
So Monday we went to Mong Kok and I started looking for Christmas stuff! So hard. But it was a blast! Then I went to the office and picked up my package which was right on time! yay!!!!
Then my Birthday came around and Sister Webb made me a huge banana pancake for breakfast while I showered and then surprised me with it! She's so nice!! Sister Groberg kindly took a collage of pictures of me and the pancake. You're welcome.
Then we had a pretty normal day, met with Leung Hingdaih and Shelley, they're both really good. Probably still won't teach Shelley, she's a bit of an eternigator (eternal investigator), but she gave us dried Lung Ngaan (Dragon Eyes, which are kind of like lychee fruits) and also gave us some candied roses. Yes, actual roses. Pretty good.
Then later we made some frozen pizza at the church while Sis. Webb practiced the piano, then we went home and made the cake while we did calls.
Then we decorated them!!
Then the other sisters got home and threw confetti at me. A LOT of confetti. It was so much fun!!! We sang and opened presents and may or may not have gotten a knock on our door from the security guard telling us to be a little quieter. Oops. But it was a blast! Thank you all so so much for the presents and the candy! It was a good Halloween for sure.
The rest of the week is all a blur, but essentially, everything fell apart. Yup! So, let me back up. We figured out that some things happened with the relief society texting group and Sara, our recent convert, I won't say details, but Sara went to the Hong Sui Kiu Ward yesterday because she's a little mad at them. So that's great, then we got a call from Echo saying that she talked to her Pastor's wife about us (always a good sign...) And now she doesn't want to meet with us anymore. Soooooo, that happened. So, now here we are, no investigators and trying to figure out how to help Sara, and as if that's not bad enough, we met with a potential yesterday and she bible bashed us and left. Whew. So, moral of the story... ok, I don't have one yet actually. So our life question is now what?
Luckily Heavenly Father ALWAYS has a plan! We have some good potentials and I've learned a ton about prayer and praying more. I've noticed sometimes we fall into a groove of just doing things our way and not asking Heavenly Father if that's what He would like us to do. But the problem with that is that it will never convert people. So it's interesting that He kind of had to pull the rug out from under us for it to click in my head again that I'm not just a missionary in Hong Kong, I'm HIS missionary, and therefore, I've got to do it His way. Pretty cool how Heavenly Father works. So, we're back to square one.
Also, we had Mission Tour this week!! Elder Evans from the 70 came and talked to us and it was amazing. Some of the things he focused on was asking for referrals and language and using time wisely. It was such an amazing spiritual day. Also, something I thought was super cool was his thoughts on upkeeping your language. He promised us that if we kept up our language after the mission, Heavenly Father WILL use it again. And then he told a story that surprised me about the afterlife. Apparently we'll still use language for at least a little while after we die. It made sense but I hadn't thought about it. So you could possibly use your mission language in the afterlife to teach people too! Wow. I loved Mission Tour.
Anyway, it's been a humbling and amazing learning week. I love you all so much and hope this week is amazing! Thanks again for a good Birthday!!! Love you all so much!
