And the Rain Came Tumbling Down. . .

Hello!!
It looks like everything is well there and summer is in full swing! So fun. Today is a bit more dry and it almost could feel like Utah summer. Except earlier this week we had a Typhoon, so the rain came down most of this week, hence the title. It's fun when you have to pause to dump water out of your shoes. But I love the rain. The weekend brightened back up though and now it's getting hot again.

Also, thanks so much Kristen and whoever else for the Dear Elder package!!! I was so excited to see all the American candy and I proudly took some to Chan Jm's house so that Henry and Candy (her kids) could try the sour skittles and the starbursts. They loved them, but man you should have seen Candy and Chan Jm pucker. Henry, being the macho 9 year old said it wasn't even sour. It was great. So thanks so much for those!

This week has been fairly normal, though it flew by pretty fast. Last p-day we went to the special exhibit in the history museum called An Age of Luxury: The Assyrians to Alexander. It was pretty cool. They had a little treasure/knowledge hunt on the map that Sister Kimball and I did and it was pretty fun. History is so cool, especially where it mixed with the Bible.
But the rest of the week we did lots of good things, we met with a potential named Joann, she met Sister Branch on the light rail train a while back and remembered her. We hope to meet with her again!
Other than that, we had exchanges this week, Sister Ramboz came to Castle Peak with me and Sister Branch went to Kwai Chung. It was a super fun exchange, it was great to be with Sister Ramboz, we've been through quite a bit together. Crazy that we've known each other for almost 2 years now. But I took her to visit Jeung HingDaih, and man you should have seen his face, he looked so happy that we took the time to visit him in the pouring rain. It was great.
And then on Sunday we had stake conference, and he came! He said that God had answered his prayers and made it sunny so that he could come! He's so good. And he said that even when he sits in meetings for church, his leg doesn't bother him as much as it usually does when he sits for a long time. I love him so much. He's my favorite.
Stake conference was super good, we had members of the Asia Area Presidency there speaking, and I totally didn't realize I missed being able to understand everything the speaker said. And even though we didn't have any investigators at church, we had one reactivated LA, and both of our RCs there, so I consider that a success.
That night we had dinner with the Yau family again, and this time Liu Siuje and Mandy came, and so did Chan Jm with Henry and Candy. I sent videos for how that went. You're welcome. It was so crazy. The kids were so full of energy and by the end Sister Branch and I were worn out. But it was fun and Liu Sj has some new friends!

So that was our week. There have definitely been a lot of small miracles, like Tony coming to Stake Conference, etc. We invited everyone at the dinner last night to pray about something they could change, or something they could do better, or repent of, in order to turn their lives towards God. And so I decided this week I'm going to try it too. I've seen so many times that turning our lives towards God ends up giving us more happiness than the thing that we gave up. sometimes it's really hard for me to let go of things, but it's always worth it. Still learning new things each and every day. I love you all so much and hope this week is amazing!!
Love Sister Peck
