Hey everyone!!!
Wow, what a week. It was great to see you all! This week hasn't been too out of the ordinary. We did get our elders, Elder Larsen and Elder Batey. They're super chill, Elder Larsen is in the group that goes home with me, so he's been out for a long time. Elder Batey's been out six months I think. So we've been working to get them familiar with the area.
We had a couple new things this week, we met with one of our members, Jeung Jm, and she gave us a referral! Which we gave to the elders... As well as a lot of our investigators. So now we're a lot more free. Thanks Elders. Random news: Beatrice Judkins, an 8 year old from our ward got baptized this week! She's super cute. And then this week we called Fei Fei and she told us that she doesn't want to get baptized or come to church because it's too boring and inconvenient. So that was super sad. But she'll be ready one day, I know it.
So essentially, we're kind of free to start with a bit of a clean slate, and that'll be nice I think. Liu sj and Mandy are still super solid. They didn't come to church though, so we aren't sure what came up. But Liu sj has been feeling the Holy Ghost, so we hope she accepts a baptismal date soon!
One of the hardest parts about this culture is a lot of times the people think if things inconvenience them, they don't do it. But that's ok, cause it's cool when people do actually change! It does happen. There are so many miracles every day. I was reading in the Book of Mormon today and saw a verse that talked about how God will give his servants power to preach the word and it will all be evidence that God's might is stronger than the Devil's, and essentially, everyone will realize it someday. It was really good to read that and realize that God really is in charge and will help us teach His word.
This week we'll be seeing the new apostle, Elder Gong! It was a surprise for all of us, (I think including President Lam), so we're pretty excited.
This transfer, I've decided I'm ready for a new page! I'm ready to find new investigators and really just push to become a better missionary and a better companion. That's my goal anyway. ;) I'm excited for this transfer and to see what it brings. God is in the small things, and he doesn't abandon a single one of these people.
That's basically it for this week. It's kind of short this week. Keep up the good work! I love you all so much!!!
Love, Sister Peck
