In news, nothing much happened this week. To answer dad's question, they kind of celebrated New Years too, lots of fireworks and stuff, but the real party will be next month is February for the Chinese New Year. Now that's going to get crazy. People here are already getting excited for it. From what I've heard the party kind of goes on all week. We'll see.
So some fun things this week were a Yam Chah (Dim Sum) with Mr. So and Amy from our English Class. It was pretty fun. Lots of chicken feet and some duck. The feet weren't too bad this time. Then we walked through the park with them and listened to all the people doing karaoke. And Mr. So drew some poetry on the ground and got a pretty good crowd. Then we walked home with Amy and talked about the Book of Mormon with her. She said she would love to hear more! So we'll probably teach her.
We also taught Tony and he's so ready to get baptized!!! He was asking great questions about the Plan of Salvation, including, 'if Adam and Eve got married and had kids, who are the kids going to marry?' Great question Tony. Great question. We let our member present help with that one. I don't know how to say that in Cantonese.
We were pretty sad to hear about President Monson, it was so strange to hear it on my mission. But there was also a huge sense of peace that came with it. And something cool is that everyone here is really excited about Elder Nelson becoming the prophet because it could mean some changes coming up for China since he has a history with China. So who knows?
And we also got a referral this week!! She called us and asked if we could meet!! So we'll meet her this Wednesday!
We went to an LA's house and helped her dust and clean, but she didn't like our organizing, so it was short lived. But hopefully it helped her feel loved.
Also, we had transfer calls!!! Our whole zone stayed the same except one elder. So that was exciting. We were all kind of relieved that it was a relaxing transfer calls. Especially since the last one was so insane.
So that was my week. Sister Lam said I could start learning Characters. So that's all the updates. It was a good week. I love you all so much. I've seen so many miracles this week and I know you guys have a lot all around you too. And so the work continues!
Love you all so much!! Keep doing those things that matter most. Heavenly Father will bless you for it, I know it.
All my love, Sister Peck
